About the SIP category

A proposal that is received well by the community will move forward for the Foundation review.

Core members of the SynFutures Foundation will assess it for factors including technical and financial feasibility, potential impact, and level of community support.

Based on this evaluation, the Foundation will decide if it must develop the proposal into a detailed SynFutures Improvement Proposal (SIP).

SynFutures Improvement Proposal (SIP) requirements:

  • Summary: A refined and expanded version of the sections from the original SPD.
  • Rationale: Addresses the key community feedback and counterpoints.
  • Specification: Clearly defined steps for the implementation of the proposed changes.

The Foundation will publish the finalized SIP and put it to an official vote on Snapshot. Community members will have a five-day window to vote on the proposal.

For the Foundation to start implementing the SIP, the Snapshot poll results must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Quorum: At least 10% of the total votable SynFutures governance tokens must participate in the vote.
  • Minimum Vote Differential: More than 50% of the participating votable tokens must be in favor of the SIP.
